Stop-Think-Do-Learn

Over the past several weeks a select number of students have been involved in a program run by our Chaplain, called Stop-Think-Do-Learn.  The program is designed to help students build social skills, manage difficult situations, and develop the ability to stop and think about their options before they act.  Students have learned the importance of thinking before they act, and have been equipped with ways to put this into practice in their day-to-day lives.   If you would like your child to be involved with this program in the future, please contact the Chaplain, Alasdair MacDougall, on a Monday or Friday at the school.

Together for Humanity

We are currently working with an organization called Together for Humanity to introduce an inter-school partnership.

Recently 21 year 7 students participated in the first inter-school workshop run by the Together for Humanity Foundation, looking at the issues of culture, tolerance and diversity.  This was a half-day workshop to prepare Bass High students for meeting with Emanuel College in Term 3, and consisted of students hearing stories from the presenters and talking about identity.

Students had the opportunity to create a song as a group, using only their hands, feet and voices for sound.  Plenty of fun was had in this activity and the outcome was sensational.  Our students will gather once more this term, before joining with Emanuel College for another workshop in Term 3.
