Community involvement

Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. As a parent or carer, you are an important part of our school community. We offer a range of services to support you and your family.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising.

  1. Fundraising: Organising events and activities to raise funds for school resources, infrastructure, and programs.
  2. Community Engagement: Fostering a sense of community by involving parents and citizens in school activities and decision-making processes.
  3. Advocacy: Representing the interests and concerns of the school community to the school executives and administrations.
  4. Support: Providing practical support for school initiatives and events, such as volunteer work or assisting in the organisation of school functions.

How to join our P&C Association

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

Our P&C Forum are held in Weeks 4 and 8 of each term. Please contact the school to join our P&C Association. Bass High School encourages all parents and caregivers to attend our P&C meetings. Your participation helps strengthen our community and enhances the educational experience for all our students.

Parents are most welcome at meetings. Meetings are friendly and informal and include information about school programs and events as presentations from key school program coordinators. Parents also have the opportunity to have a say in school decision-making and planning.

The Bass High School parents and citizens' association (P&C) meet at school every month. Meetings take place early evening (starting at 6pm) or during the school day (starting at 9:30am). We will keep you updated with dates and times via website, Facebook and the school app (School Stream).

Financial contributions and assistance

There are some costs involved in attending school. Please contact our school for details about what your child may need so you can plan your budget.

Voluntary school contributions

Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

For more information, visit the Voluntary School Contribution policy.

Financial assistance

If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.

Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.
