Chaplain
The role of the chaplain at Bass High School is as follows:
- work with the learning support or welfare team to facilitate student wellbeing
- provide pastoral care for students, staff and the wider school community
- facilitate small group programs and one-on-one meetings with students
- facilitate lunch time activities to assist students in building healthy relationships
- network with welfare services and other agencies in the local community to provide a broad range of support services to the school
- facilitate groups, events and activities to support spiritual wellbeing with voluntary student participation
- build mentoring relationships and assist students with goal setting
- support staff at school camps, excursions and other activities as required
- organise scripture classes.
Christian, Islamic and Catholic scripture classes run for students in Year 7 to 10, every fortnight. Week A for Year 7 and 8 and week B for Year 9 and 10. Girls co-ordinator
As the girls coordinator at Bass High School, I am a point of contact for support for girls from Year 7 to 12. Through my role, I am able to build a rapport with students and create links for them with external agencies, committees and community support groups.
I also organise extra-curricular programs to help them socially, emotionally and in an academic capacity. The aim to build strong and positive relationships amongst the girls in order to support them within and outside school.
Anti-racism contact officer
The role of the anti-racism contact officer is to work with staff, students and all other employees at Bass High School who feel they have been prejudiced due to their:
- race
- religion
- gender
- age
- disability
- culture and linguistics.
