Maths

Mathematics is a discipline which involves observation, representation, investigation and comparison of patterns and relationships in the world. It develops creative problem solving and is a powerful, precise and concise method of communication. It is used everyday in many practical applications of human activity and at a higher level is integral to most scientific and technological advances made around the world.

The study of Mathematics at Bass High School will take students into the areas of numbers, patterns and algebra, collecting and analysing data, measurement and geometry. Encompassing all of these areas is the overriding theme of teaching students to work Mathematically, that is, teaching students how to think and solve problems. We have a particular focus on using technology in student learning.
