Welfare at Bass

The Welfare Team at Bass High School strive to effectively target and address various circumstances relating to student wellbeing. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that students' health, safety and learning are developed and extended.

The Welfare Team has worked collaboratively to produce and implement a Wellbeing Program which is delivered to Year 7-10 students by their Year Advisors, on a fortnightly basis. The aim of this program is to create an enabling learning environment for students, where there is a strong consideration of their needs and an extensive provision of opportunities to excel in their learning.

Our Year 11 and 12 students also partake in this program. The emphasis for them includes study skills support, cyber safety, stress management and general safety.

The Welfare Team at Bass High School is made up of a highly experienced and compassionate group of staff, including Year Advisors, Assistant Advisors, Girls' Advisor, School Counsellor, Head Teacher Welfare, Deputy Principal and Principal.  The Home School Liaison Officer is also part of this team.

The Year Advisors, and their assistants, have the important role of being a student's first point of contact regarding any school matters. They closely monitor student attendance and consistently plan and implement welfare programs that are tailored to the specific needs of their cohort.

The priority areas of our Welfare Team include student attendance, positive behaviour, anti-bulling programs, recognition of student achievement, transition, positive relationships, goal setting, health and safety.

At Bass High School, we value parent/caregiver communication and regularly keep parents/caregivers informed. Any welfare related enquiries are to be directed to the relevant Year Advisor.
