Gillawarna Performing Arts Festival
The Year 10 elective Dance classes successfully auditioned for the Gillawarna Festival of Performing Arts. They performed in a matinee and evening performance at Bankstown Sports Club. The Year 10 Dance class practiced very hard and they received a good response from the audience for their performances. The Year 10 performers were praised for their performances and the way they conducted themselves throughout a very tiring week. As a result of their efforts, Bass High was portrayed in a very positive way throughout the Festival.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the Festival and the students involved should feel very proud of themselves!
Bankstown-East Hills District Festival for
Year 9 and 10 Dance
The Year 9 and Year 10 Elective Dance class successfully nominated for the Bankstown District Dance Festival held at Bankstown Sports Club. Both groups worked hard during all the rehearsals and performed really well on the night. The Year 10 Dance class decided to create a new performance item for the Bankstown Festival. The Year 10 class successfully choreographed this new item in two weeks. This took a great deal of time and hard work with the students giving up their own time during lunch times. The Year 10 item showed originality and impressed the audience. For most of the Year 9 Dance class it was the first time they had performed in front of an audience. This made the evening performance both an exciting and daunting time for the Year 9 Dance students.
Thank you to Ms Christie and Ms Chan for giving up their time at the rehearsal and on the performance night to provide invaluable help with both groups.
Thank you to the families and friends of the Year 9 and 10 Dance class who have been so supportive of the groups by coming to watch their performances and support them so strongly. Thank you to the support shown by the Principal Mr Horton and teachers – Ms Breccia, Ms Caon, Ms Ghamraoui, Ms Purser and Mr J. Wilson for coming to watch both groups perform. The students really respond to all the support in the audience.
Congratulations to the Year 10 performers
