On Thursday 20h of March Bass High Mock Trial team hosted Georges River Grammar for the first round of the New South Wales Law Society Mock Trial Competition.
Bass High was represented by John – 1st Barrister, Byron – 2nd Barrister, Lynette – Solicitor, Daniel – 1st Witness, Jeziebah – 2nd Witness and Dylan – Magistrate's Clerk.
Both teams preformed exceptionally well with Bass High winning the case (legal argument) and Georges River Grammar winning the trial based on points.
The final score was Georges River Grammar 291 to Bass High's 284. Whilst all members of Bass High's team preformed admirably, Daniel's performance of 1st Witness was exceptional given he was a stand in for another student who was sick on the day and only had two hours to prepare for the trial.
Bass High's next opponent will be Freeman Catholic College at an as yet undecided date in week 11.
